Underworld don Chhota Rajan, a fugitive from the Indian law, was arrested by the Balinese police in Indonesia on Sunday. Rajan, or Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje, is wanted for several murders in India. Rajan, said to have worked for Indian intelligence agencies to counter don-turned-terrorists such as Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel at one time, is likely to be deported to India.

A photo of Rajan beaming alongside an Indonesian police official, clicked after his arrest and released by the Interpol, went viral on social networking sites. A large chunk of the accompanying comments said that looking at the smiling visage of Rajan, it seemed the arrest was more like a "ghar wapsi" (homecoming) for the don rather than a deportation.
