Another Rs 5 lakh were paid to a Vaastu Shastra consultant so that good vibes flow freely within the house. But he could not be faulted for overspending, because he floated a tender for the two pieces of furniture and the consultant’s services. As is the practice in the public sector, the orders were given to the lowest bidders.
