The claim that Unesco declared India's national anthem to be the best in the world was fake

At an award function in Mumbai in honour of industrialist and philanthropist Jamnalal Bajaj, a member of the team of organisers asked the audience to stand up for the National Anthem. So far so good, till he announced that Unesco had declared India’s National Anthem to be the best in the world. The Unesco claim circulated rampantly on social media for a couple of years now is fake, but that didn’t stop the host from making a big deal about it. On the dais were Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and former member of Parliament Rahul Bajaj.
