Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar may have been in Delhi for over a year-an-a-half now, but he still feels like an "outsider" in the city and doesn't consider himself a "Delhi politician".

Parrikar, who assumed charge in November 2014 from Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who also held the defence portfolio then, says he is settled in the defence ministry and "that is adequate for my job".

Parrikar's comments come at a time when Goa is getting ready for elections next year. It is expected that Parrikar, a popular leader in Goa, will play a critical role in the Bharatiya Janata Party's campaign there.
