During a debate on population control, Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad lamented that whenever he tuned into a TV channel, he invariably found telecasts of weddings of film stars. Lal Singh, the Congress MP from Udhampur who's known for his sense of humour, was sitting in front of former Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor. Singh stood up and quipped: “No sir. It is not only filmstars whose marriages are shown on TV. He (pointing to Tharoor) is also getting married and it’s all over the TV channels!”
