How to get relief from ombudsman
- Complain to your service provider first and then wait for 30 days
- In case there’s no satisfactory response, write to the ombudsman
- You have to approach the ombudsman within 13 months of filing the complaint
- Ombudsman can award compensation for actual loss, or up to Rs 20 lakh, whichever is lower
- If not satisfied with the ombudsman’s decision, approach the appellate authority
- Final recourse is the consumer forum
