CEC on two-day Bhopal visit to review MP poll preparation

Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampat and Election Commissioners -- H S Brahma and Dr Naseem Zaidi -- would pay a two-day visit to the city from August 26 in connection with the ongoing preparations for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections.

During the visit, the three would hold discussions with administration officials with regard to the polls scheduled in November this year.

The CEC and ECs would also hold meetings with the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police besides conducting one-to-one meetings with representatives of political parties.

They would also meet Collectors and Superintendents of police, Divisional Commissioners and IGs of police to review poll preparations.

The visit may help in deciding the date from which the model code of conduct would come into force.
