Addressing the media while releasing water at Narora Barrage of the Ganga river here, the PWD Minister said the schemes distributing laptops to students, umemployment allowance to youths and financial assistance to unprivileged girl students under Kanya Vidyadhan have been abandoned and funds meant for these will be utilised for other more beneficiary schemes of the state.
The state government made no allocation for these schemes in its Budget presented in the Assembly yesterday.
The minister released 4,000 cusecs of water from Narora Barrage at Ganga into the lower Ganga Canal and said it would benefit farmers of 12 districts.
