Pawar will formally launch his blog on October 25. With this, he joins the list of Indian politicians who have taken to social media.
“I have already penned a write-up, obviously on politics, and it will be the first article to appear on the blog,” Pawar told Business Standard. He added that apart from politics, he would also write on current developments in other fields.
The NCP leader proposes to share his experience in the fields of social sector including empowerment of women and youth, literature and sports including cricket and kabaddi. He also plans to write on agriculture and its prospects.Pawar said he wants to make his blog an interactive one.
Although his blog comes in the run-up to Lok Sabha elections, the 72-year-old politician may be able to devote quality time to write because he has already announced he would not contest the Lok Sabha elections.
He, however, will seek to enter the Rajya Sabha after February when the election is due.Pawar’s move to launch a blog is in line with NCP's decision to increase the party’s presence in social media ahead of the Lok Sabha and assembly elections.
NCP plans to set up a special social media cell at all levels — from booth to state — to air the party’s views on current issues.
As reported by Business Standard earlier, the party has roped in Driving Minds Innovation, a company formed by former ZEE TV and Star Plus executives Nitin Vaidya and Abhijit Saxena to implement the digital and social media strategy.
