Twitter stands up for Ansari

VP's office clarified that Ansari was not invited for the Yoga Day function

As the world celebrated International Yoga Day, it has also paved way to a series of controversies in India. Senior RSS and BJP leader, Ram Madhav tweeted asking why Vice President Hamid Ansari did not attend the yoga day celebrations. It took a new turn when VP’s office clarified that Ansari was not invited for the function.

Subsequently, Madhav apologised and deleted all his tweets on the subject. But that was not enough for twitteratis who have criticized the BJP leader for politicizing an event that was meant to be voluntary anyways. #IStandWithHamidAnsari is now trending in top in India and worldwide on Twitter.

Many prominent persons took the same root and accused VP and Rajya Sabha TV channel. But later Gurdeep Singh Sappal, CEO of Rajya Sabha TV contradicted all the accusations. The accusations are still there on twitter, but Ram Madhav deleted his tweets on the controversy. After the clarification by VP’s office tweets took a new turn.
