Uttar Pradesh Assembly was today adjourned till December 9 after Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and MLAs offered condolences to sitting Samajwadi Party MLA Raja Ram Pandey, who passed away recently.

The Chief Minister, Leader of the Opposition Swami Prasad Maurya, BJP legislative leader Hukum Singh, Congress legislative leader Pradeep Mathur and RLD leader Dalbeer Singh paid tributes to Pandey and condoled his death.

After observing a two-minute silence, Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey adjourned the House till December 9.

Former state minister and legislator from Vishwanathganj seat in Pratapgarh district, Pandey died late on October 31 following a massive heart attack.

The 57-year-old leader had held the portfolio of Khadi and Gramudyog in the Akhilesh Yadav government. He was removed from the state cabinet on April 15 this year over his alleged sexist remarks about woman officials, which had sparked off national outrage.
