Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh took to Twitter to condemn Goa Police registering a case against a person who faces arrest for his pre-election anti-Narendra Modi tweets.
In his tweet Saturday Singh said that will the same police who were witch-hunting Devu Chodankar, a 31-year-old Mumbai-based shipbuilding professional, act against those who posted abusive comments about outgoing prime minister Manmohan Singh on the social media?
Singh wrote on Twitter: "Condemn registration of a case under IT Act against Devu Chodankar. Would the same police pls look at abusive postings against Dr MM Singh?"
The Goa Police's urgency to arrest Chodankar has attracted criticism from the Opposition and civil society, resulting in protests outside the state police headquarters in Panaji.
