Acision, the world's leading messaging company, today announces the appointment of Atanu Choudhury as Vice President and General Manager for South West Asia. With extensive experience in the telecommunications industry working with mobile operators, equipment vendors and system integrators, Choudhury will oversee Acision’s South West Asian operations and will be instrumental in strengthening the company’s presence in the region through an aggressive growth strategy.

Gerard Delany, senior vice president central sales at Acision, commented: "Atanu's engagement emphasises our commitment to delivering exceptional client service and further developing our presence in the South West Asian market.  His wealth of experience managing global accounts, mixed with excellent knowledge of the telecommunications industry, will significantly benefit our business as we continue to deliver our strategy in support of our customers and grow the business across the region.”

Prior to joining Acision, Choudhury was VP Sales South West Asia at Dilithium Networks leading the sales and account management functions.  Choudhury also held senior sales positions at Nortel Networks & Alcatel in this region. Working closely with telecoms businesses in the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia, Choudhury has a strong track record in managing large and complex accounts and has successfully closed many large multi-million dollar deals with Indian and global customers.

“Acision is ideally placed in terms of its strength, leadership and capability in messaging, mobile data services and charging, and my goal is to build on this competence across the region.  Acision is a well respected company and I will add my energy and ideas to help develop the business and foster relationships with both existing and potential customers.  Acision’s continued investment in Southern Asia is proof it is a strong player in these tougher economic climates and I see enormous potential to grow its market share over the coming years,” added Atanu Choudhury, Acision vice president and general manager for South West Asia.

Udit Shanker remains as Country Manager of India. ‘’Udit has been instrumental in driving our growth in India and his contribution has been key to our success,’’ continued Delany.
