Bharti Enterprises, one of India’s leading business groups, today announced two senior level group appointments.
David Rebello has been appointed as CEO, Bharti Realty Pvt. Ltd., the real estate arm of Bharti group. David will be responsible for the overall strategy and direction of the group’s realty business. David replaces Mr. KL Jain who retires at the end of March 2009.
David has over 25 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Project Management and General Management with 21 years being spent with the Tata Group. He has led large-scale companies like Tata Housing and more recently DLF Home Developers.
David’s last assignment was as the Managing Director of DLF Home Developers. A graduate from St. Stephens College and an MBA (Finance & Marketing) from Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, he began his career with Tata Administrative Services.
Ranjana Smetacek has been appointed as Head – Group Corporate Communications & Brand, Bharti Enterprises. Ranjana would spearhead functions such as Media Relations, CSR Communication, Internal Communication and Brand Communication for Bharti Enterprises.
Ranjana has over 20 years of experience in Corporate Communications and Public Relations, both nationally and internationally. Over the years, she has worked in various positions with a diverse set of companies such as Monsanto, Ranbaxy Laboratories, and Hotel Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza.
Ranjana’s last assignment was with Monsanto Group as Director International Communications, based in St. Louis, USA, where she was responsible for international communications around key Monsanto initiatives. Ranjana joined the Monsanto Group as Director – Corporate Affairs (South Asia) in 1999.
