Intertek participates in Food Forum 2011

Intertek, a leading provider of Quality & Safety solutions participated in the Food Forum India (FFI) 2011, India’s leading event of dedicated information about food products and technology industry. The forum held on 28th & 29th March, 2011 was one of the largest congregation of captains from global and Indian Food Retailers, decision makers from food Services, manufacturers, organisations and thought leaders in food business.

“Intertek aims to provide all sort of technical assistance in the area of food control such to set up and strengthen food contamination monitoring programmes, quality control and inspection, certification systems for food and harmonisation of food regulations with an objective to help the Indian food and agricultural industries ensure product safety, improve quality, and reduce regulatory risk.” said Mr. Rajesh Saigal, Managing Director, Intertek India.

Dr. Jochen P. Zoller, President of the Global Food Service division for Intertek shared his views stating “India faces severe problems of increasing population, urbanisation, and lack of resources to deal with harvest losses. This continuously stresses the food systems thereby affecting the quality & safety of food supplies adversely. It is therefore our responsibility to ensure surveillance throughout the food production, processing, storage and distribution chain. Intertek would utilise the opportunity of participating in the Food Forum to raise awareness and visibility on the expertise in the segment and provide knowledge-sharing vis-à-vis the importance of food products testing”

Food Forum India 2011 showcased all types of food manufacturing technology, fish food and products, seafood products. Quality sessions provided global perspectives of successful application through CEO conclaves, talk shows, presentations and case studies.
