Ramsarup Industries Ltd., commenced production of 500 TPD DRI plant first of its kind in West Bengal and Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB) in Kharagpur. There are very few of such plants in India.

The plant was set up using German Outokumpu technology. Its WHRB will generate 20 MW of power along with gas generated from the blast furnace. Ramsarup is taking necessary action to sell approx 11MW of power through the exchange which will give them approx Rs. 4 crores per month of revenue.
