In its latest offering in the Value-Added Services segment, Reliance Communications has launched MobileNet, a single data plan which will provide hassle-free internet access to its GSM/Reliance Telecom Limited subscribers.

Through MobileNet, RCOM GSM/RTL subscribers can avail GPRS through multiple channels like self-care (RWorld, SMS, USSD), e-recharge, paper voucher, Internet etc.

Currently, RCOM GSM/RTL subscribers can avail GPRS services through mobile using different APN (Access Point Name) like RCOM Wap (via RWorld) and connect phone to PC/laptop /modem to browse internet using RCOM Net (via NetConnect charges applicable). Customer experience in each of these scenario(s) is different and process is cumbersome.

Mr Anil Pande, Head – VAS, Reliance Communications, said, “MobileNet GPRS plans will give you internet access on mobile as well PC/Laptop. You can use the MobileNet to access information, services and entertainment, much the same way that you do on your PC. In fact, existing plans on WAP (Mobile Internet) and Net (Net Connect) plans would be combined to offer better and improved offering.”

Through this VAS offering, RCOM plans to leverage revenues from the existing and new subscribers. Charges will be applicable on a real-time basis. Free multimedia content (Wallpapers, Ringtones, videos, etc) worth Rs.51 for Mobilenet51 plan and content worth Rs.99 free with Mobilenet99 plan is available for pre-paid users of RCom GSM and RTL only. For post-paid customers, MobileNet99 will have over usage of Rs.99 on quota completion.

MobileNet 51 has a rental of Rs 51 with a plan validity of 15 days and the user can download up to 1GB. This plan has an offer validity of 12 months. In MobileNet99, the user has access to unlimited downloads up to 2.5GB. It has a rental of Rs.99 and valid for about 30 days, with an offer validity of 12 months.
