SBI wins the first AIMA - R K Swamy High Performance Brand Award 2009

State Bank of India has won the first AIMA R K Swamy High Performance Brand Award 2009.  The award was presented at the inaugural session of AIMA Indian Marketing Congress in New Delhi.

The award is recognition of a brand’s performance on the ground and not for brand’s recognition, publicity, loyalty or brand equity only.

AIMA R K Swamy Brand Award was set up with the belief that brands are business assets that need to be nurtured, managed, measured and rewarded.  Instituted by R K Swamy BBDO the Award recognizes and celebrate the marketing success of a brand.

This award is only for brands created in India, for India and the world and for the brands that have been in existence for at least three years.  The AIMA R K Swamy Brand Award in its first year had received tremendous response with over 70 well known brands from different sectors participating.

EQUiTOR Management Consulting Pvt. Ltd. was the knowledge partner for the award.

The performances of the brands were analysed using consumer and financial data.   The brands were shortlisted based on the growth of brand vis-à-vis category growth, return on capital employed and other prescribed eligibility criteria.  The key measures were Distinctiveness, Consumer Relevance, Single mindedness, challenges the category and Consistency.

The Award was presented by Mr. R Gopalakrishnan, Executive Director – Tata Sons Ltd, at the AIMA’s Indian Marketing Congress 2010 at New Delhi.

AIMA organized its first Indian Marketing Congress- 2010 on 8-9 February, 2010 at Hotel Le- Meridien, New Delhi. The Congress was chaired by Dr Jagdish Sheth, Charles H. Kellstadt Chair Professor of Marketing Goizueta Business School - Emory University. Mr. Srinivasan K Swamy, CMD, R K Swamy BBDO Pvt Ltd was the Co-Chairman.

The Congress featured eminent marketing practitioners from top companies as Speakers. Over 250 delegates participated in the Congress from all over the country.
