Surya Steel Pipe achieves new milestone
Surya Roshni, the largest G.I. Pipes manufacturer in India, has crossed several milestones during the last financial year (2010-11). Recently Surya Roshni got the prestigious European “CE” marking certification for its steel products, which is mandatory for supplying materials in Europe.
J.P Agarwal, CMD, Surya Roshni said “It is a big achievement that makes us proud. This year the company explored into many new overseas markets like US, Canada, Saudi Arabia, U.K, Latin America & some parts of Africa. We have been exporting steel pipes into UAE and European countries. We have recently commenced supplying API Pipes into US markets.
Milestones that have been already achieved are:
- Surya Group has set up new API pipe mill at Bhuj, Gujarat to cater to western India and global markets.
- Top consultants of repute have recommended Surya products to architects across the entire country. We have recently been approved amongst others by Spectral consultant, Potential consultant, DGMAP(All India),CPWD Rajasthan.
- Surya Group is the only company that is manufacturing “½ to 100” inches dia pipes in India along with Section Pipes.
- Growth from last year Rs.1900Cr to Rs.2500Cr (31.57%).
Sold in the Brand name of ‘’Prakash Surya’’ it caters steel pipes to various applications like water, gas, Fire fighting, Air Conditioning (HVAC), Housing Projects, Tube Wells, Infrastructure and air pipelines, line pipes and pipes for oil and petroleum industries, black and zinc coated pipes, pipes for structural purposes, water wells, idlers and belt conveyors and Telecom Tower.
Due to increasing demand for spiral welded pipes for transportation of Oil, Gas and Water as well as structural and industrial applications, Surya Group has set up a world class modern and large manufacturing plant in Gujarat. It produces Spiral Welded Pipes in the range from 18” to 100” with maximum wall thickness of 1”(25.4mm) conforming to API/ASTM specifications up to API5L, Gr.X80. This plant has a total capacity of 3 lac MT per annum in GI & Spiral pipes.
At present Surya Group’s turnover is Rs2500 crore and a workforce of 10,000 people. Surya Group of companies has taken up several expansion plans. The company has projected a turnover of Rs 5000 crore in next two years.
