Track stocks now on your cell phone with Vodafone Portfolio Tracker

Vodafone launches Portfolio Tracker at just Re 99/month

Vodafone Essar, one of India’s leading cellular service providers, today launched the Portfolio Tracker for its customers across the country. Portfolio Tracker is a downloadable application which allows Vodafone customers to get live and near-live stock prices and financial markets information instantly on their GPRS enabled mobile phones.

The Portfolio Tracker is a total portfolio solution on ones mobile phone at a subscription fee of Rs 99 per month. Vodafone customers can search and add stocks to their portfolio, while mentioning the quantity of stock held by them along with the price at which they have bought the stock. This enables them to see the market value of the portfolio at any given time. The application also allows users to track stocks they are interested through “Stock Watch” and have a personalized ticker through the “Manage Ticker” function of the application.

There is also an Alerts service wherein subscribers can be notified when the price of a stock reaches a specific high or low price set on the stock. Apart from this, subscribers are provided with dynamic and relevant market news in the “Market News” section and can get a feel of the overall market performance at any given time by looking at the Market Indices of BSE, NSE, Sensex and others.

Besides Stocks, the application also allows users to manage their Mutual Fund portfolio. Users can search for and add funds to their portfolio by adding the number of units along with the NAV with which they bought the funds. The latest price of the fund and its value of gain / loss can be seen at a single glance in the Fund Portfolio section. Apart from this, customers can get exchange rate values of major global currencies including US Dollar, Euro, Yen, Canadian Dollar, Pound Sterling, etc. in the Forex section.

Vodafone customers can download the Portfolio Tracker application from the portal-Vodafone live. Alternatively, customers can download the application by sending an SMS “PT” to 111 from a GPRS enabled device. On sending PT to 111, user receives a message with the link to download the application.  Customers can unsubscribe the application by sending an SMS “CAN PT” to 111.
