Vijay Srinivasan takes over As President, AIA

Executive Council Elects New Office Bearers

Automation Industry Association (AIA) has announced the appointment of Mr. Vijay Srinivasan as its new President. Mr. Srinivasan is VP & Managing Director, Invensys India Pvt. Ltd. He takes over from Mr Vijay Paranjape, former Director & Member Managing Board, Siemens Limited.

The association also announced the appointment of Mr K Nandakumar, Chairman & Managing Director, Chemtrols Industries Ltd as its new Vice President.

Mr Srinivasan brings with him over two decades of experience in technology-enabled businesses across Asia-Pacific region. He started his career at BHEL’s Control Equipment Division in Bangalore, and has worked in control systems, software business, computer hardware, and telecom. He graduated from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and has an engineering degree in Electronics & Communication.

Addressing the members at the recently concluded AGM, the new President emphasized on enhancing top management sensitivity towards the importance of automation solutions in user organizations, building synergy amongst industry, higher educational institutions, policy makers and users through seminars and symposia, support safety and compliance standards in manufacturing industry and attract fresh talent to careers in the Automation Industry. “AIA is committed to achieving transformational change in the perception of Automation Industry by the manufacturing industry and government bodies and become a strong influence on policy-making” he said.

He also shared his future plan which included increasing the membership of AIA to 100 Automation Enterprises, set up chapters in North and East regions and develop Centres of Excellence for Automation.
