The action came after the Building Department of North Delhi Municipal Corporation's Civil Lines Zone found that a large porch, one big hall and seven to eight rooms were constructed illegally in the heritage hotel at 7-Sham Nath Marg in North Delhi.
All the illegal structures have been razed, a senior municipal official said.
"The Department deployed 20 employees for the action with four JCBs, gas-cutters and other tools and plants etc. The action was taken with the help of local police," an NDMC statement said.
Oberoi Maidens, one of the capital's oldest hotels and built in 1903, has retained its colonial charm and architecture. The building reflects the 19th century architectural elegance.
