The woman, the wife of a man accused in two dacoity cases, alleged that the OC sent a car to her house and took her to empty quarters behind the police station where he raped her yesterday, police sources said.

Her husband was given bail in a dacoity case three days ago, while there he was also an accused in another dacoity case, Hooghly Superintendent of Police Tanmoy Roychowdhury said.

A medical examination of the victim was made and a second opinion taken, but no evidence of rape was found, the SP added. PTI COR PC
