Pregnant elephant found dead

The elephant, expecting a calf, was suspected to have strayed from a herd which usually comes down from the nearby hills and got stuck in the mud at at Bakagaon village yesterday, forest officials said.

A postmortem of the elephant was conducted, the sources added.
