The highest number of unidentified bodies recovered and inquest conducted in Maharashtra - 6,268 bodies in 2016, 6,185 bodies in 2015 and 4,860 bodies in 2014.
In West Bengal, 4,998 unidentified bodies recovered and inquest conducted in 2016, 3,086 bodies in 2015 and 3,740 bodies in 2014.
