1,213 pilgrims leave for Amarnath shrine

A fresh batch of 1,213 pilgrims today left for twin base camps of Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir amidst tight security.
A total of 1,213 pilgrims, including 282 females and 100 sadhus, left in a cavalcade of 30 vehicles from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp here for the two base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal this morning, a police officer said.
Yesterday, 2,943pilgrims had paid obeisance at the holy cave.
A total of 1, 99,325 people have so far paid obeisance at the Amarnath shrine.
