Police today seized 1.5 kg of unaccounted gold and detained four persons who were suspected to have brought it from Sri Lanka in exchange for ganja peddled by them.
The four were nabbed soon after they anchored their country boat at Therkku Karaiyur sea coast near here, following which they were taken to Ramanathapuram for further investigation, police said.
According to initial investigation, the four had taken ganja, priced at Rs one lakh per kg in international market, from here to Sri Lanka and exchanged it for gold.
