1.68 crore voters in Haryana

The total number of voters in Haryana are 1.68 crore following the special summary revision of electoral rolls.
As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, special summary revision of electoral rolls of all the 90 Assembly constituencies in Haryana has been done with reference to January 1, 2016 as the qualifying date and now 3,12,953 eligible persons have been added to the voter list including 1,59,461 male and 1,53,492 female voters.
Therefore, now the number of voters in the State is 1,68,73,650, said Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, Shrikant Walgad.
He said the draft electoral rolls had been published on October 15, 2015.

After taking necessary action on received applications from October 15 to November 24, 2015, the voter list have been prepared for publication after including names of all eligible persons and deleting the names of ineligible persons from the electoral rolls and final publication of electoral rolls would take place on January 11, 2016.
He urged all eligible voters of the State to go to their nearest polling stations, or contact the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) concerned, Electoral Registration Officer or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer to check the voters list and ensure that their names are in the list and all particulars are right.

He said if there is any correction in the particulars or inspite of being eligible their name is not in the list, then they could immediately fill two copies of Form-6 for new registration, in Form 6A for registration of non resident of India, Form 7 for removal of name from electoral roll, Form 8 for correction and Form 8A for shifting polling station to other polling station in same constituency, whichever is applicable and submit the same in the office of BLO concerned and get a receipt of it.
Walgad said on the basis of census, there is still difference in ratio of voters. Therefore, he has urged the remaining eligible persons to still submit two copies of Form-6 to the above mentioned officers to get their name registered.
