A suspected bootlegger was arrested and 995 pouches of illicit liquor were seized by sleuths of the Excise Department here Wednesday, an official spokesman said.
The sleuths carried out a series of raids in the villages at Bishnah town and R S Pura sector of Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
The raids were conducted as per the directions of Excise Commissioner Talat Parvez Rohella to eradicate the menace of bootlegging, the spokesman said.
One person was arrested and booked under provisions of the Excise Act, he added.
