1 arrested for robbery, murder

With the arrest of a person, police today claimed to have solved a robbery-cum-murder case in South East Delhi.
According to police, the accused identified as Javed is a member of a Mewat-based gang involved in cattle lifting. On the basis of a tip-off, Javed was arrested on Friday from Badarpur while he had come to meet his accomplice to plan another crime.
Javed is involved in several criminal activities in Delhi and NCR and had been in jail for firing at a police team six months ago in Haryana, police said.
"On February 23, one Krishan was sleeping in his house. At about 10.45 PM, he noticed that 2-3 persons were trying to forcibly load his cows in a loader.

"He raised an alarm and his cousin Ravi also challenged the criminals. At this, one of the thieves got down from the vehicle and shot at Ravi, which proved fatal," Additional Commissioner of police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.
Local police has been informed about his arrest. Further efforts are being made to arrest other absconding criminals of the gang, officials said.
"In 2013, he along with his associates had fired upon police team in Haryana and was arrested in this case. About six months ago, he came out of jail and again started his criminal activities in Delhi and NCR" Yadav said.
