1 dead as truck rams into bullock cart

A 45-year-old man was killed after a speeding truck rammed into his bullock cart at Hapur- Modinagar road this morning, police said.
The incident took place near Khanjarpur village gate at around 4 AM when the truck hit the bullock cart from the rear, SHO Modinagar Kotwali Deepak Sharma said.
Due to strong impact, the cart's driver Ummed lost his balance and tumbled down on the road, the SHO said, adding, he was killed on the spot.
The body has been sent for post-mortem.
Police have impounded the truck and arrested its driver Lokesh.
