A 40-year-old man was killed in a brawl after a collision of a motorbike and a car in Rajasthan's Kota district, police said Tuesday.
The deceased, Ramnivas Malav, was attacked with stones and sticks by some persons from a nearby village for intervening in the quarrel between the motorbike rider and the car driver on Monday evening, said Mohammed Sharif, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Kaithoon police station.
Mukesh Banjara and his wife was going to Deeppura village when his motorcycle slightly hit against a car, which resulted in a scuffle between the accused and the car driver, the ASI said.
Some farmers, who were working in the nearby fields, reached the spot and tried to pacify the two parties. But the three allegedly attacked the farmers with stones and sticks, following which they fled the spot, the ASI said.
Two persons, who got injured, were rushed to a hospital in Kota, where the doctors declared one of them dead, while the other was discharged after primary treatment. The deceased has been identified as Ramnivas Malav.
Banjara, his wife, Manbhar, and Murarilal of Seemalhedi village were booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 302 (murder), and they were detained for interrogation on Tuesday, Kaithoon police station in-charge Sugan Singh told.
The deceased's body has been handed over to the family on Tuesday morning after post-mortem, he said, adding that an investigation was underway.
