Senior IAS officer Gagandeep Singh Bedi would probe the reason behind the collapse which led to the deaths of five persons and injuries to 12 other, an official release said.
The Committee would also recommend steps to ensure that such incidents do not recur, it said.
After conducting the probe,the Committee would submit its report to the government within two months the release added.
Five persons, including three women, were killed when the roof of a bus stand collapsed at Somanur near Coimbatore on September 7.
He had sanctioned aid of Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 to each to those with severe and simple injuries, respectively, from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund.
