Based on a specific tip off, officials kept an eye near Naroda BRTS bus stop last evening and intercepted a car, which bore a Delhi registration number and seized 10 kg hashish from the rear passenger seat of the car and arrested the driver, Zonal Director, Gujarat NCB Hariom Gandhi said.
"Several packets of hashish were recovered from the cavity of the rear seat, which was sealed by a metal cover. A total of 10 kgs hashish, worth Rs 75 lakh in the international market was seized. It is of premium quality, which is expensive than common charas," Gandhi added.
Gandhi said that the hashish seized is called as 'Malana Cream', considered as the best quality charas and is sold at a very high rate.
"Grover claimed to have acquired the hashish from a drug dealer in Himachal Pradesh and came to deliver it here. We are yet to find out details about the receiver," the officer said.
As per primary investigations, Grover was expected to receive Rs 1 lakh as commission for the delivery.
During his previous visit, Grover had received Rs 30,000 as commission and it is learnt that he became a drug peddler after incurring huge losses in business, Gandhi said.
