10 years' RI for raping

A court in Bihar's Purnia district today sentenced Bipin Rai to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment and imposed Rs 50,000 as fine on him after finding him guilty in the rape of a woman who was convicted in the murder of former BJP MLA Raj Kishore Keshri six years ago.
Additional District and Sessions Judge - III Md Ejazuddin passed the order convicting and sentencing Rai, a close aide of Keshari, to 10 years' RI and imposed Rs 50,000 as fine after finding him guilty for raping the woman who is imprisoned for life.
The judge ordered that 80 per cent of the Rs 50,000 fine imposed on Rai be given to the victim and the rest be deposited in the treasury.
