Over 100 shanty shops were gutted in a major fire that broke out at Shahdara village today, a fire department official said.
"A fire broke out due to short circuit at Shahdara village market. We received a call at 2.30 am today. Over a hundred temporary shops were destroyed in the blaze," Fire Station Officer Matloob Hasan said.
No causality was reported in the incident.
"Six fire tenders were pressed into operation. It took four hours to douse the flames. Three motorcycles and one car too were destroyed in the fire," he said.
