Out of the 643 cases, 305 are being investigated while 237 are either filed or disposed off, Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran said in a written reply.
A total of 1,027 cases were registered out of the 4,692 complaints received last year. As many as 1,642 complaints were still being investigated while 1,923 are filed or disposed off, he said.
To another question, Ramachandran said 254 theft cases were registered in the same police station during the last six months -- from September 2012 to February this year. He said 62 people were arrested in these cases.
