Police have registered a case against 11 persons here for the murder of a man over a land dispute.
According to Circle Officer (Raniganj) Ramesh Chandra, there was a land dispute between the victim Durga Prasad Dubey (45) and his neighbour Rajendra Mishra.
"Late last evening, Mishra and his associates thrashed Dubey with sticks and injured him seriously. Dubey succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment in Allahabad," Chandra said.
Based on the complaints lodged by the family members of Dubey, a case has been registered against the 11 persons including Mishra, he added.
