Eleven people were killed in a car accident at Rahni Nullah on the Manali-Leh road in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district today, police said.
The five women, three men and three children were travelling in a Scorpio when the accident took place near Rohtang Pass, Kullu's Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri said.
The victims were from Pangi in Chamba district. They were travelling from Manali to Pangi.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has expressed grief over the deaths. He told reporters that the district administration has been directed to provide all possible help to the victim's next of kin.
