Officials said the operation was launched in the early hours by the combined team of the Assam Rifles and the Nagaland Police which led to the apprehension and seizure from St John Sector A of Tuensang town in the remote district of the state.
He said preliminary inquiry of the cadres revealed that they were involved in extortion, illegal tax collection and recruitment of youth.
The seizure of arms and ammunition include one 9 mm carbine with magazine, one point 22 pistol with magazine, one AK 47 rifle with magazine, one bolt action rifle, one 12 bore (Bolt Action) SBBL gun and 41 rounds of assorted ammunition along with PEK explosives and detonators.
