11-year-old dies after falling from tractor

A boy, about 11-years-old, who was part of a victory procession taken out by JMM legislator of Baharagora Kunal Sarangi, was crushed to death under the wheels of a tractor in Basadiha village in Ghatsila of East Singhbhum district today, the police said.
The victim was sitting on the tractor, which was part of the victory procession, when he fell down and came under the wheels, Superintendent of Police (city) Shailendra Kumar Sinha said.
The boy was killed instantly, Sinha said adding the body was recovered by the officers of Chakulia police station.
Sarangi, son of former Jharkhand health minister Dr Dinesh Sarangi, defeated AJSU Party candidate Sameer Mohanty in the recently concluded Assembly elections from Baharagora constituency.
