119th Ooty flower show to kick off from May 15

Imported flowers from 200 countries would be on display during the upcoming three-day annual Ooty flower show, a chief tourist attraction during the summer festival in this hill resort town.
To add more variety, cut flowers and national flowers would be imported and showcased at the 119th edition of the event, to be held from May 15 at the picturesque Government Botanical Garden as part of the summer festival, Director of Horticulture Department L Chitrasenan told reporters here today.
The summer festival, which draws tourists from across the country and abroad, will begin with the 8th Vegetable Show at Kotagiri (May 2-3), followed by 6th Spices Show at Gudalur (May 8-9).

The 14th Rose Show will be held at Rose Garden here on May 9 and 10, the 57th Fruit Show is scheduled on May 23 and 24 at the famous Sims Park in nearby Coonoor, he said.
For the first time, the tickets for the shows will be sold online, he said.
