12 injured in protests

Twelve people, including six policemen, were injured in brick-batting by a group of locals protesting against damage to a mosque in an accident.
A bus accidentally rammed into a mosque in Dilazak locality last night, damaging its balcony and pillar, SP K B Singh said today.
Enraged over the incident, a group of people blocked roads in the area and set the bus on fire.
As police of different police station areas was rushed to control the situation, the protestors indulged in brick batting resulting in injuries to several persons including six policemen, the SP said.
Senior officials including DIG Ashutosh Kumar rushed to the spot with additional force and normalcy was restored late in the night, the SP said.

The situation was now normal but forces have been deployed in the area as a precautionary measure.
