About 123 kg of pangolin scales were seized from a Myanmar national at Thingdawl in Kolasib district of Mizoram, police said today.
The 44-year-old Myanmarese identified as Vanlalena of Tahan in Myanmar was arrested and the pangolin scales worth around Rs 19.68 lakh recovered from him yesterday.
The scales might have brought from Assam for smuggling out to neighbouring Myanmar, police said.
Police handed over the seized pangolin scales to the Environment and Forests department officials today.
The accused was booked under the Wildlife Protection Act.
