128 dead in Mizoram due to malaria since 2010

At least 128 people have died in Mizoram since 2010 due to malaria, state Health Minister Lal Thanzara informed the assembly today.
In a written reply to a query from Lalruatkima of opposition Mizo National Front(MNF), Lal Thanzara said 31 people died in 2010, 30 in 2011, 25 in 2012, 21 in 2013 and 21 have died till September 2014 in the state due to the disease.
He said the Centre had disbursed Rs 26.23 crore to the state government under National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme during the same period.
