13 killed in road accident in Pakistan

At least 13 people were killed and seven others injured today when an over-speeding passenger van collided head-on with a truck in Pakistan's Baluchistan province.
The injured have been rushed to Quetta for medical treatment, said Ismail Ibrahim, Assistant Commissioner Mastung.
The van, which was on its way from Mangochar to Quetta, collided with a truck coming from the opposite side of the road.
At least 13 people were killed and seven others injured in the accident, Dawn reported.
Ibrahim added that the driver of the passenger van lost control due to over-speeding, which resulted in the accident.
Authorities reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident. Three of the injured passengers are in a serious condition.
Pakistan has one of the world's worst records for fatal traffic accidents which is generally blamed on poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.
According to police records, over 60,000 people died in road accidents over the past 11 years.
