One accused, identified as Samunder Singh (55) has been taken into custody in this connection and a case of rape and murder has been registered, they said.
According to police, the incident occurred yesterday when the victim, a class eight student, had gone to Singh's house for work and did not return. Later her body was recovered from the house of the accused.
Agitating villagers staged a protest in front of the Binauli Police Station and refused to handover the minor's body to the police, until some senior officers intervened.
