150 boxes of liquor seized by poll officials

As many as 150 boxes of liquor bottles were seized and two vehicles used for canvassing in Sohna (Gurgaon) assembly segment were impounded by poll officials today.
The boxes were seized at Bhondsi police check post during monitoring by a static surveillance team, Sohna Assistant Returning Officer Vivek Kalia, said.
The boxes were loaded in a mini-truck, he said.
The driver of the vehicle told that the liquor boxes were being transported from Ashok Vihar to Harchandpur, but could not produce the necessary permit.
The seized boxes have been now been handed over to the excise department for investigating whether they were being transported legally or otherwise, he said.
