tortoises, allegedly being smuggled, were today seized from a Kuala Lumpur-bound passenger at the airport here.
CISF personnel found Tameem, 28, carrying the star tortoises, a protected wildlife species, in a hand baggage and recovered them, airport officials said.
The tortoises were handed over to the Forest department, they added.
Tameem has been taken in for questioning by Forest Department officials, they said.
