Food poisoning continues to plague China's educational institutions as 150 students at a middle school in central China's Hunan Province were affected by it, state media reported today.
The students of the Xiandong Middle School in Lianyuan City started showing symptoms of food poisoning, including diarrhea and vomiting, last night.
According to the municipal government, twenty-seven of them have been hospitalised.
The food poisoning is believed to have been caused by the milk the school gave to the students as a late afternoon snack, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
Several such cases were reported from different parts of the country in recent weeks with large numbers admitted to hospitals for treatment.
